note; riverdale season five takes place after a seven year time jump, making theo about twenty five years old. there might be slight differences in certain storylines. i will not write shipping material with characters younger than him in timejump storylines.

after highschool theo went to university for psychology, it's always been an interest of his. he has a degree. he always stayed close to riverdale.now at the age of twentyfive he has moved back, and has taken over bartending at the white wyrm. now running that part, the pay is decent. and he is working further on his degree on the side. which he thinks is fun. he lives with his friend in a small apartment,even after all these years theo is still as kindhearted and sweet, even if he has managed to gain more of a backbone now. he plans to be a child psychologist in the future, to help kids like him. he's inherently empathetic and wants to help everyone around him. especially in a town like riverdale where it can be so difficult to grow uo.

the arden home never had been a peaceful one; theo remembered how his father would throw glasses and vases at the walls. scream so loud that he nearly lost his voice, even then not stopping. how he would have to pick up glass with shaky hands as he sobbed, being blamed for the mess his father had made. because he had done something wrong, like not remembering how to tie his shoes himself, or not finishing his food fast enough.his mother would stand there with her back turned, flinch with every sound of glass breaking. or theodore’s father’s voice raising further, how he would grab on to him or knock him into things. slap him across the face. instead promting to patch up his hands afterwards, kiss his bruises. apologize and say how much her and his father loved him. he just couldn’t control his anger, so they had to be really good to him. really patient.your daddy loves you, theo baby, he just ... has problems. but we love him anyways. we love him a lot. theo wasn’t sure if he loved him. not when he did the things he did. made his mother cry. or hurt her. screamed at her for doing things wrong — he could agree he was wrong. that the things that happened to him was his fault. but not her, not his mother. she was only ever nice. even if she didn’t defend him, or she didn’t stand up for him. he loved her.one night he and his mother were at home, watching a movie while his father was supposed to be out. but he came home — in a rage. theodore doesn’t really remember much of what happened. just that he woke up the next day in the hospital covered in bruises with a broken arm and bandaged all over his body, with the news that his mother was dead. and his father was going to jail. one of their neighbors had woken up to the commotion, and managed to knock out his father before he could give theo the same fate as his mother.he was only five years old, and he didn’t know how to feel. he didn’t understand how someone could be gone forever. or why he’d never see his mother again.after his mothers death theo's uncle was given custody of him; he was young, and far from responsible. theo moved into his apartment, but he was never around. from that point he mostly ended up raising himself. with help from the older serpents. they made sure he was clothed and fed, that he got to school and did his homework. and sometimes they'd stay over at night when his nightmares got bad and sit there waiting to comfort him. hog eye and tall boy were often ones who were there, theo becoming like a soft spot for even the meanest of serpents. he was a sweet child, eternally kind, gentle. the incident with his mother had left him with a fainting problem, seemingly unprompted. one that slowly eased out over the years. but left him with flareups every so often. usually caused by stress.at the age of fourteen theo was initiated into the serpents, still soft faced and scared. but he was up for the challenge. and he wanted to be one, to make up for everything they had done for him and the ways they had protected and looked out for him over the years. at the same time he begun working at the white wyrm as a bartender, even as young as he was. it was a hard job, shifts that ended up way longer than they should be. and costumers that didn't know how to keep their hands to themselves, or got too rough. but theo got used to it, eventually. he needed the job, and the money. he never seemed to complain.throughout the years theo developed unhealthy coping mechanisms, wanting to feel loved he'd hook up with people he shouldn't. even if he didn't really want to. but it seemed like that was all he was good for, or at least he felt that way. he felt worthless, that noone would ever love him, maybe because of the way his dad had always said he was. and his grandfather, who he often visited to help out with the things he needed. he'd be cruel, but theo took it. because he couldn't seem to be able to find any argument to say he wasn't.at one point theo met toni topaz, who had moved to town. they were instant friends. and he soon found she intended to become a serpent, and how she felt about the initiation. the serpent dance. he always had agreed it was a bad deal. disgusting, sexist. and so, he decided he would do the only thing he could considering they refused to change it, and he did it first. it was uncomfortable, the way he was stared at, but at least it seemed to help his friends.

in fandomless verses everything is the same, at least with the southside. the murder mysteries ect can be left out of roleplays. but theo is still a gang member and a bartender and the same things happened.

vampire knight
theodore was born into the pureblood vampire family by the name arden, known as royals in the vampire world. even as a child he was known to be beautiful and graceful; a blessing to his parents and the vampire world as a whole.but even still, no amount of blessings could save his parents from their inevitable doom. they lived in fear of a fellow pureblod vampire, his mothers former friend. rido kuran. he had been rejected by her many years in the past, and so, he wanted his revenge. by taking away their only child, and making him take the place his mother had been ' supposed ' to take many years in the past.the arden matriarch knew this wasn’t a fight they could win, they were already weakened. and so, along with theodore’s father she decided to sacrifice herself to give their son a chance against rido one day in the future. giving their lives for him, and sealing away his vampire side until he might one day be able to protect himself.after the matter, theodore was whisked away in the night. being taken to the estate of their most trusted, kaien cross. a man they had met many years prior.and with no memories of his past, theodore lived with the former vampire hunter. taking the name of theodore cross. he was a shy child in his first time there, but quickly developed a close relationship with his adoptive father. and now he adores him the way anyone would a father.years after, theodore begun attending the cross academy his adoptive father was the headmaster of. taking a position on the disciplinary committee to help keep the secret of the vampires attending the school. he was no longer as shy, and quickly became popular amongst many students romantically for his good looks and pleasant demeanor. although, he still didn’t have many friends. usually finding himself too busy to keep up with them. he had too much workanother duty of the disciplinary committee is to keep the school safe, and so, he was given the artemis rod that once belonged to his mother and a bloody rose to keep the vampire students in check. the artemis rod always strapped to his thigh.even still, he is plagued by nightmares, that leave him trashing in bed like he is in terrible pain.

the vampire diaries
theo was turned into a vampire by accident when a vampire fed on him and healed him with their blood, only for him to die soon afterwards. as a vampire theo shows great restraint, he has good self control. and easily is a much better vampire than many older ones. he is always very careful when he feeds, and usually settles for blood bags. but he can't go onto the all animal diet no matter how hard he tries. it makes him a lot more dangerous than he needs to be.

tidbits !

- theo works as a bartender at the white wyrm, and the serpents are still in possession of it. despite the downsides he does love many parts of his job.- theo has a bit of a collection of flavored lip balm, his favorite tastes like strawberries.- his serpent tattoo is placed on his right arm, and is something he is very proud of. he got it when he had just turned fourteen and joined the serpents officially along with his friends.- when theo was seven he and toni pierced their ears using an old book behind their ear and a sowing needle they had found; he wore unicorn earrings for weeks and his ears got infected. fp saw and took him to get new nice silver ones.- theo always has struggled with sitting still; he is nearly always moving in some way. whether it is tapping his fingers or moving back and fourth in his chair; moving his feet, or whatever else.- throughout the years he has developed a close relationship with fp, he sees him like a father figure and he looks up to him in many ways. and often takes care of him when he's drunk and clearly can't do it himself.

mother
mila arden was born with a kindness familiar to the one theo has. seeing the best in the people she met. she saw goodness where there was none in his father. she would rather kiss his bruises than prevent them from happening.she would tell theo that his father did love him very much. and that he didn’t mean to hurt him. really, she was the one who didn’t mean to hurt him but still did. theo often
blames himself for what happened to her. along with everything else.

father
duri kim has a history of violence throughout his life, in the past he was a southside serpent. noone knew how violent he would be to theo and mila behind closed doors. he is jail and theo has no contact with him.

grandfather
joseph arden, mostly known as joe, is a cruel old man. he blames theodore for what his father did to his mother. and often says that it should have been him. he said and did horrible things to theo.

uncle
joey arden, named after his father joey is nothing like joseph. at least not in direct ways. he has custody of theo, but he had never been around to take care of him. theo absolutely idolizes him, even though he shouldn't. considering he was never actually there.

asher grace
ash is theo's very best friend in the whole world, the two are very close and have been friends since they were little. theo wouldn't trade him for anything. they are nearly inseparable. and they have been since they first met. theo tells him nearly everything ( the exception being when he isn't feeling good ) and he thinks that ash is one of the best people in the entire world. their relationship can be complicated, but they hardly ever fight, and it's healthy. theo often finds comfort with the grace household. it feels entirely like home. he loves ash in a way he has never loved anyone else before or after.

hogeye
hogeye is a father figure to theo, he always looked out for him when he was little. and even though he's not the nicest he very clearly has a soft spot for theo. he is the reason he got the job he got at the white wyrm.

fp jones
like hogeye fp is a father figure to theo, but even so theo often ends up taking care of him. since he drinks and can be a mess, to put it lightly. theo admires what he has done for the serpents. but he knows he's far from all good.
